Besides academic quality and standards one needs a place for grooming..not going so long NUST is that place for a middle class person. NUST ENTRANCE TEST(NET) is one of obstacles of process for admission into the NUST it, whenever I thought of it I had no idea how I am going to do it, wait and tension for preparation of test were always there to kill me. one day I gripped my text books and more than a dozen of MCQs books for practice and had an overview and then made a schedule to have complete revision of text books, our fsc-II classes were running those days,we had not learnt Geometry from maths,Inorganic chemistry in Chemistry and modern physics from physics, in-completion of course had lead me to more tension and stress but learned them from online lectures on youtube to have an idea about them..but thanx God that I have learned each and everything that I was taught me in academy.
Registration for NET-2 started in march I applied on very first day of registration but opted for Last test session in schedule as I needed much time for more preparation and in hope that we would have learnt much topics in academy till then( I would also recommend juniors to opt for last test session and don't think "k jo 2 salon mein nhn parha wo ab 1 hafte mein kya parhein ge".NO. a week or more means alot for preparation if you have prepared completely then too select last one as its test tip that don't study before 2 or 3 days of test).
One the test day when I reached at H-12 campus, I was nervous somehow but all that went over when I appeared in test.There were many questions in maths and physics specially, "jinke bare mein socha bhi nhn ja sakta tha k wo b pooche ja sakte hein..jese physics ki book mein sare examples +ve charge k liye hein" but one should must know what if it was -ve charge.on that very moment the point came in my mind that "conceptual study is all that works at nust" one thing more that as I was from sindh and test was all from PTB books that also lead me to failure in nust aur "ye b tai kardiya k ab bus PTB k books parhoon ga"..
Result in NET-2 was much more than I expected in math nd chemistry portion but it was not satisfactory for admission.I then applied in NET-3,for that I joined an academy but left that in week as It was time consuming( I would advice you people that don't join any academy for NUST test,self study means alot for that if you have studied FSC well).I had all my focus on Physics textbooks and No mcqs books this time NET-2 taught me alot and I improved by 75% in physics. many of my talented freinds had got less than 100 marks because of lack of experience in NUST tests.
The final suggestions for new comers is that grip the PTB books and learn them conceptually.Cramming has no use in NUST test except of chemistry portion. Do appear in atleast two test session of NUST if you can afford, I don't think so that after a test of NUST you would be following traditional rules entry tests preparation any more...Thanks

→ Nust offers online system.You can apply from anywhere whether you live in Pakistan or Abroad.

→ There are series of Test in NUST.i.e NET-1,Net-2 and Net-3.Net-1 is held in December,Net-2 is held in April and Net-3 is held in April-June.

→ Students should take at least two test it is my personal advice to all student.Because I gave two test and in NET-2 i was worried a little bit but in 2nd test I was completely relax(in NET-3).

→ NUST conducts this test in three major cities of Pakistan.i.e.Islamabad,Quetta and Lahore.But Only Net-3 is held in Karachi and Quetta.

→ NUST takes both Computer based and Paper based test.Paper based test is conducted in Karachi and Quetta whereas Computer based test is conducted in Islamabad.

→ I didn't give Paper based test but i feel that Computer Based Test is easier than Paper Based.Student should go Islamabad otherwise depend on you whether you give in Karachi,Quetta or Islamabad.

→ NUST NET fee is 2500/-

Chemistry Portion → Chemistry portion is the easiest portion in NET if you read FSC book by heart.You have to remember every single line of Chemistry.In NET,Major portion is Organic chemistry 15-17 questions are asked from this portion.Here is the previous paper of NET 2014(Link will be uploaded soon).

Math Portion → It is the heart of NET Test because 80 questions are asked from this portion.I have given two test in NUST (NET-2 and NET-3).In NET-2,7-8 questions are asked from Conic section,10 questions are asked from Sequence and Series and remaining questions are given from other chapters(at least 2-3 questions from each chapter).But In Net-3,it was totally different from NET-2 because in NET-3 10 question are asked from Function chapter and there are many questions from graph of different chapters.NET-3 is little bit difficult than NET-2.Here is the previous paper of NET 2014(Link will be uploaded soon).

Physics Portion → It is little bit difficult.Every question is conceptual in NET whether it is NET-2 or Net-3.For Physics you have to learn all chapters because 2-3 questions are asked from each chapters.Here is the previous paper of NET 2014(Link will be uploaded soon).

English Portion → It is easy portion in NET.For English you are good in Grammar and you have ability to get idea by reading paragraph.And here is the vocabulary of NET-1,2,3 2014..Here is the previous paper of NET 2014(Link will be uploaded soon).

Intelligence Portion → It is very easiest portion and can be solved within 5 minute.These types of questions can be asked How to Coding and Decoding,Odd man out and Sequence and Series.Here is the previous paper of NET 2014(Link will be uploaded soon).

FSC → Only 15% is calculated in NUST.

Matric → Only 10% is calculated in NUST.

Test → 75% is calculated in NUST.(Major portion)

As seen from above everything depend on test but we have not to forget FSC and matric marks because it effects a lot in merit number.Only 0.1 makes a very big difference in merit position.

If you got 80% in Fsc then given marks are necessary for particular department.

It is not necessary because NUST will give you two month after FSC exam.Self study is the best way to clear the NET test.But there is a question how can we solve math if we don't join academy?Don't worry Click here for shortcut method of Physics and Mathematics for NET.

As we know NUST takes the series of Test.So,take at least two tests out of three.

NUST will give you merit number after NET-3.It tells us what your position in NUST(combination of all tests).It give you idea whether you get admission in NUST or not.If your merit position is greater than 3000 than you will get admission in NUST in any field.See below the table
